A note from the founder
I started Standhaft because I wanted everyday clothes that hold up the way the good ones used to: built with care, made from materials that earn their keep, and quiet enough that you stop thinking about them.
My family came to Charleston from Bremen in the late 1800s. Standhaft is the German word for the temperament I grew up around: calm, steady, never governed by the first reaction. It felt like the right name for a house that intends to be around a long time.
